Grinding (for Shaping and Sharpening)
This is the first stage—where material is removed to shape the cutting edges.
• Create the sharp edge on the jaws
• Shape the bevel angle of the blades
• Refine alignment between the two blades
Secure the nipper in a jig or fixture to maintain alignment
2. Gently grind the inner side of each jaw (the cutting edge), using a fine abrasive
3. Maintain a consistent bevel angle—usually around 20–25°
4. Ensure both jaws meet perfectly at the tips
Buffing (for Polishing and Finishing)
This is the final stage, which gives the tool its smooth, shiny, professional finish.
